Information for Authors

Authors should submit original work that fits the Journal’s scope and is not under consideration elsewhere. A submission must contain one complete manuscript, an accurate ordered record for every author, and all relevant ethical, funding, competing-interest, data, and use-of-AI declarations. The editorial office prepares the identity-protected copy used for double-blind review.

Prepare one complete manuscript

AUTHOR UPLOAD

Complete manuscript

  • Title page and complete author names
  • Affiliations, departments, countries and corresponding-author email
  • Available ORCID iDs
  • Abstract, keywords, main text and complete references
  • Tables, figures, appendices, acknowledgements and funding where applicable
EDITORIAL CONTROL

Blinded review copy

  • Prepared by authorised editorial staff after submission
  • Checked for names, affiliations and other identity clues
  • Stored as a separate immutable staff-only derivative
  • Made available to reviewers only after approval
  • The author’s complete original remains unchanged

Core manuscript structure

A manuscript should ordinarily include a precise title, self-contained abstract, relevant keywords, logically organised main text, an appropriate conclusion, complete references and any required declarations or supporting material.

Abstract and keyword limits: the binding limits will appear in the submission portal after editorial approval. No unapproved number is presented as a mandatory rule.
04 / Presentation

Language, citation and visual material

Manuscripts should use clear academic English. British English is the preferred house convention, except where quotations, source titles, proper nouns or disciplinary usage require otherwise.

Citation

Use one recognised system consistently. OSCOLA or another accepted legal system may suit legal research; APA, Chicago, Harvard or MLA may suit other fields.

Figures and tables

Number each item, provide a descriptive caption and source, maintain legibility and secure any permission required for third-party material.

Authors must verify quotations, cases, legislation, datasets, hyperlinks, bibliographic details and persistent identifiers before submission.

05 / Responsibility

Authorship, originality and declarations

The corresponding author coordinates the submission, confirms the author list, communicates with contributors and ensures that all authors approve the final version. Gift, honorary, guest or purchased authorship is not acceptable.

  • Accurate authorship and contributor approval
  • Originality and relevant prior dissemination
  • Ethics approval and informed consent where applicable
  • Funding and the funder’s role
  • Financial, professional, institutional and personal interests
  • Data availability and legitimate sharing restrictions
  • Material use of generative AI or automated tools
  • Permissions for third-party text, figures and other material
AI responsibility: an AI system cannot be an author. Authors remain responsible for accuracy, citations, originality, confidentiality, interpretation and rights. AI-generated references and factual claims must be independently verified.
